Informations > Prefabrication of prestressed concrete The production of prestressed concrete units by using the two systems ”Extruder and Slipform” dates back to the mid nineteen fifties and very soon it gained ground all over the world because of many advantages:
1.production of large quantities of units, with the same shape but different reinforcement or pre stress patterns;
2.big daily production;
3.low manpower costs, due to the high degree of automation;
4.no requirement to use fixed moulds;
5.flexibility in the production because, simply by changing some parts of the forming insert of the machines, a range of unit heights and widths may be produced;
6.external surface are all visible immediately after casting;
7.consistent unit quality because of controlled filling and vibrating process;
8.high concrete strength because of water/cement ratio between 0.31 and 0.35. Indeed using a higher w/c would make it impossible to produce the efficient product shapes without costly moulds.
Despite using semi dry concrete, these machines can consistently produce units with complex cross sections, which may be lifted after 12 hours.
The Extruder and the Slide Mould Machine (Slipform)can produce either reinforced or prestressed concrete units. Prestressed concrete units are the most common because they are the easiest and cheapest to make.
The most important of several advantages are smaller cross sections making the best use of materials. Smaller sections mean lower weights, thus lower transport and installation costs and they can easily be moved and stacked.
Our experience in design and construction of machinery for the production of a wide range of units is very extensive:
